Although the term "Netflix" took on a life of its own and has come to represent TV shows, movies, documentaries, children's programming and more, Netflix has only been around since 1997. But in 2014 it seems as though everyone needs a brief moment of personal escapism. 1. Connect your laptop to your TV or projector via HDMI or S-Video cable; see my video above for details. (Please note, I cover Macs and PCs in the same video.)2. If you have a smart TV with built-in streaming capability, connect an HDMI cable from your TV to your laptop (or simply log into it).3. If you have a laptop with a screen size of 10 inches or larger, plug it into your TV with an HDMI cable.4. If you have a powerful gaming computer that's hooked upto a large TV or projector, you can also stream Netflix via your gaming console if it's connected to the same network as your computer.5. Watch Netflix on iPhone or Android

1. I'm writing this article from my iPhone, so I stream Netflix on it. If you have an iOS device (smartphone or tablet), then go to www.atdmt.com/streaming-video-devices/roku-streaming-media-player/#iphone and download the free Roku app onto your smartphone or tablet; then go through the setup process.

Watch Netflix on Xbox 360

1. If you have an Xbox 360, you can use Xbox Live (Xbox.com) to watch Netflix and other content online through the Xbox 360 if you have a TV with the right connection .
